Dave from Lobo here. Those that can remember me may recall my R25 that was one of the first ones built. It’s now elsewhere and I hope still happy.

Greetings to those I met so many years ago. I still have hot flashes over Lobo.

The reason I’m posting deals with CUMMING engines with computer problems about 15 years ago.

A neighbour bought a used 25 with a Cumming diesel with computerized controls. I recall from @ 15 years ago the problems that existed for some time. I think my friend may be unfortunately blessed. Can anybody point me in the correct direction? We are in Victoria BC.

Appreciate the assistance.

Dave

Been there, done that.
The ONLY SOLUTION is a Mercruiser dealer or service center with the diesel certification and the software to address the problem. I found one with the help of the Mercruiser factory. Call them, and they will: A. Find you the nearest dealer or certified repair facility. And B; they can trace the engine to see if any of the factory updates were applied to the engine. Cummins techs CANNOT connect to this engine. I spent a lot of $ to find this out. Let the factory find you the service facility. Parts are not a problem.
Went through that and I have a great power plant! Hundreds of hours over 4 years with no problems. Sweet power plant.
