Our R25 (FMLT2507F809) Just Dreamin' has developed a fresh water leak which has me puzzled. Woke up several days ago to the aft bilge cycling frequently and to our surprise about 1/2" water in V-berth step well. That woke us up very quickly. I have checked every possible location which allows access - hot water heater, behind sink connections, fresh water pump, head, check valve, city water connections, etc. The one place which I would really like to make a visual on is the fresh water tank connections, but have decide it is next to impossible. Trying to look through the opening under the helm step with an inspection mirror does not help. In searching the forum index I noted several postings which mentioned a thread on installing an inspection plate (I think) which allows a visual of the tank and connections. Would appreciate if someone could point me to that thread as I can not locate it. Or if a thread does not exist has anyone installed an inspection plate to the tank? If nothing else I would like on occasion to check the hose clamps on the tubing.

I had a pinched hose that allowed just enough fresh to get the pump charged but not enough water to keep pressure through the taps. The hose was pinched when the floor was lowered on to the hull at the factory. No one probably noticed because there was always proper pressure out of the taps for the first few seconds. The pinch occured at the ledge of the v-berth step. I added two 6" inspection plates on the veritical diagonal sides of the vberth steps. I was able to see the issues with a "snake" camera that I picked up at Home Depot. The fix was to cut the hose at both ends of the step and clamp in a new piece of hose. Good luck. The out-take location on the top of the water tank is not in a easy access location.

The 6 inch inspection plate on the Lucky Fin (2009 R-25) was installed by the first owner. I could be wrong but that is what I was lead to believe. The center is 3.5 in from veritcal step and 8 in from veritcal foreward bulkhead. It would be better to have an 8 in plate, but I would check with Andrew at Ranger Tugs frist. Their could be a strength isue. Their are also electrical lines and who knows what else under their so be careful

We also have a water leak in the area of the tank inlet. The first owner said it was cross threaded but it was fixed, not so. There are however 2 or3 reduceing rings going into the tank so it is possible, also my inlet hose has only one clamp. The fact that my tank only leaks when it is full makes it easy to find but not easy to fix. Good luck.

If I did not know where those inspection holes are, I could not divine it from the descriptions and I suspect the OP will have the same problem... Who has the pictures?

Try Capt D photo albums if still up.
