R25 Thrusters

I had a piece of tough seaweed get sucked into the bow thruster. The thruster now does not work. The motor engages and there is a "wine" of a shaft but no thrust. Is there a shear pin that has been damaged? Thoughts?

Has anyone added a screen or a grid to the thrusters? It seems like seaweed would be a constant threat? I am a new Ranger owner, this will be my first season.
