I have not had a chance to have our 2022 R25OB weighed yet and wanted to ask if any owners have ? If so what did you find the boat weighed in at?

I recently weighed my R25 on the trailer with antifreeze in the systems and maybe 5 gallons of gas in the tank. Only gear in the boat was what it came with from the factory. Boat and trailer weighed 8,100#.

Upon returning home I went to have our boat and trailer weighed at a local cement plant. For our 2022 R25OB with 25 gallons of fuel, no water or holding tank matter and partially filled with things and boat and trailer weighed 9,360 lbs. , minus 1,805 lbs for the trailer puts the boat weight at 7,555 lbs. Hope this is helpful for others who trailer, as it relates to truck size and or how much weight you can add to the boat. The trailer is rated for a capacity of 8,900 lbs…..leaving 1,345 lbs of extra weight….such as fuel, water, food, beer, etc.

How did you come by your trailer weight? It seems high. Another R23 owner reported his sling weight at 7,900 pounds. You’d expect the R25 would be heavier. Do you have a kicker? Solar panels? I estimate that the wet weight of my R23 with kicker, rocket box and two solar panels at 8,300 pounds.

Our 2015 Tuff Trailer tandem axle aluminum trailer for our 2009 R-25 Classic came in at 2,050 pounds. I thought Jim’s trailer was light!
The R-25 Classic typically weighed in at between 9,650 and 9,800 pounds including the trailer. Subtracting the trailer brings the boats weight in at 7,600 to 7,750 pounds. That’s with 20-25 gallons of fuel, no fresh water and an empty black water tank.
Amazing how close in weight Jim’s 2022 R-25OB and our old 2009 Classic are!

Once on the weight scale I disconnected the truck from the trailered boat, drove the truck off the scale to get the trailer/boat combined weight. I called EZLoader and obtained the trailer weight from them to subtract from the weight at the scale. No kicker, no dinghy aboard, lithium house batteries, ac/dc cooler style refrigerator/freezer, and half the normal cloths, food and stuff on the boat. Hope this helps.

Jim,
Your numbers sound reasonable given the factory says 6,500 lbs dry. You are 1000 lbs over that for a boat with at least 150 lbs of fuel, an anchor with a partial chain rode, I suspect a reasonable amount of stuff in the galley, dock lines, fenders, boat hook, tools, spares, clothes, etc. I personally unload everything from our boat each fall just to avoid it accumulating stuff we seldom use and gaining weight and to remind me what we have on board and were it gets stored. (If I could just get around to doing that in the house and garage I might be able to find the stuff I am looking for.)

My 2023 R25 OB on the trailer weighs 8,100 lbs. The aluminum trailer weighs 1,440 lbs and the boat weighs 6,660 lbs. The boat does not have the lithium option, no kicker, basically no gear or supplies, and a few gallons of fuel and antifreeze.

Good Idea Jim, pulling trailer on scale and unhooking. Makes me think I can pull my truck onto the scale with the boat and trailer off the scale to get my truck tongue weight, just subtract my truck weight. Any thoughts on this method?
