I was curious to know what the weight of full tank of diesel fuel in my R-25 (75 gal tank) would be. I computed it as follows...
-Average weight of diesel (from 22 sources) was given as 0.875 grams per cubic centimeter.
-There are 3785 cubic centimeters in one US gallon.
-1 gram is 0.002205 lbs
Thus 3,312 grams equals 1 US gallon of diesel or (3785 * 0.875)
Therefore 1 US gallon diesel weighs approximately 7.3 lbs or (3312 * 0.002205)
...and finally R25's full fuel tank (capacity at 75 gallons) yields a weight of approximately 550 lbs.
Care to check my assumptions and arithmetic ?
Is this full tank weight given anywhere in the R25 Operations Manual I wonder ?
