Last fall during the winterizing process, I completely pumped out and rinsed the holding tank and then evacuated the last remaining water through the macerator pump into a bucket with the boat on the trailer. I leveled the trailer and then poured measured amounts of water into the holding tank through the pumpout portal. I then marked the tank at the 10 and 20 gallon levels so that I can now determine the approximate remaining capacity of the holding tank. Ten gallons is 5 3/4” from bottom of tank and 20 gallons is 9 3/4” from bottom. Be careful not to include in the measurement the plywood platform on which the tank rests. There is a photo of this mod in my album.
My boat is a 2012 R27. I have no idea whether these measurements are applicable to other R27s.
