If you have trouble pulling the old one out spray the housing and splines (there's a rubber plug over the splines) with WD40 and wait a few minutes and then bump the starter. Should slip right out after that.

D3 is much easier to pull the impeller than the D4. After removing the 3 machine allen head screws and the belt. Turn the pulley in the direction right hand with a slight side pressure and the impeller will walk right out. The spine shaft, bearing housing and seal and pulley are removed as an assembly. I install the impeller on the shaft lubricate the pump housing and impeller vanes with the glycerine lubricant supplied with the impeller. Push the impeller into the housing while turning the pulley. The impeller will walk right in. Once the impeller is correctly installed slide the shaft and housing out install the new o-ring with a coating of the glycerine. Slide the pulley bearing housing in place seating the o-ring, tighten the 3 screws and install the belt. It is tight quarters but easy to pull and install the impeller.
