It seems like my main breaker switch will go off with very little draw. Recently we had only the electric oven on and the switch turned off. Anyone else have a similar experience? It appears to me that either there is a fault in the stove or my main breaker switch is too sensitive.

Is it only the stove? Are you plugged in? The power in makes a difference. Sometimes it's only 20 amps. To troubleshoot you need to start at the beginning and work your way thru. First write down the power in, then turn on some breakers. Start with the outlets, plug in something like a fan. Then put on the hot water heater. Save the oven for last. Also you could call an electrician that specializes in boats.

I thought there was something wrong with my A/C unit on my last boat. It was the power in. Once I got the full 30 amps, it was fine. Maybe try the generator, inverter and the shore power on the stove. Just be careful. The A/C side can bite!!

Hi ,
We have never had success getting the oven or hotplates working on our R27 they seem to start ok but never get up to operating temp without tripping the power on 240v and running the generator with nothing else operating🙁. But the local rep is helping us out with their usual great assistance🙂🙂
Guess its good that we have a nice gas BBQ mounted on the stern rail for convenient cooking 🙂

Got 30 amp power. I'm having a tech check it this week. As is typical for Ranger my dealer is the best.(Mark Dereene)
I'll let you know what the results are.

Talked to my tech, who checked out the circuit, and it appears there are a number of Cutwater and Ranger Tugs that had a main breaker installed with inadequate capacity. He has seen this on a Cutwater and the factory confirmed. We're now checking to see if this is the same problem on my 2012 R27. It appears it may very well be.

Breaker is now replaced with free factory replacement, but we're in winter layup.
We'll tell you how it works out in 2015.
