r27 microwave oven

I've recently did my R27 orientation and test drive out at the Kent factory, and will be taking delivery of my boat this May. The boat is AWESOME! And the cabin, galley, etc. were all very impressive. However, I'm not sure how I feel about the microwave oven's low location given the potential cooking volatility of this kitchen utility (overcooking, boiling over, burning, melting, etc.) In my home kitchen I'm glad to have the microwave right on the counter at eye level and available for constant monitoring, etc.

My question is, has anyone fitted a small microwave anywhere else in the R27 galley (on one of the walls, etc.) that is more practical (and safe), and just turned the other microwave compartment into storage?

Over five years of use and no issues. The microwave is not as powerful as the home model. I rarely have had "boil overs". And like everything else, it is a matter of getting used to. The refrigerator is pretty low too. The only change I made was I put an LED light (battery powered) under the seat above the microwave and one directly across from the refrigerator below the microwave. It makes a big difference when it is dark out to see the microwave control buttons and inside the refrigerator.
