R27 onboard tool kit

Excellent Anne. When we all cruise together we should decide who carries the heaviest tool items... When I biked with my light weight fixed wheel configuration (16 tooth small, 48 tooth as the main clanger) I always carried at least 2 tubeless tires rolled up under my saddle... never thought about spokes mind you... although some of my biker friends would carry spare wheels. 😉 I hated gears because of their weight and complexity.

So e really good lists here- thank you for sharing. Now lets talk storage of said tools... Where do y'all keep everything so it's not bouncing round the boat? Dave

I bought a craftsman plastic tool box and I was able to fit everything in it. I store it on the ports side locker meant for the Genset.

We converted the "cave" in our R-27 to a "storage area. We have room for rubber maid tubs small misc containers and our cockpit enclosures. The storage area extends under the dinette.

We have a gen set so storage on the port side in the cockpit is nonexistent. Our modifications of the "cave" have proven invaluable to us. We purchased the boat with the idea of only the "two" of us sleeping on-board plus of course our puppy.

We have three kids, two dogs, and an R29 (R31CB in the fall!). Both boats have a gen. Where to keep the tools?
