Is it ok to tow on trailer with the stern sunshade up? Looks secure enough, but it's easier to ask then try and find it along the hihgway.

No. Do not under any circumstances tow your boat with the bimini in place.

I hauled my 27 home to DC from the Punta Gorda rendezvous this past January. Forgot about the bimini being up for the first 700 miles. It is fine, still pools water too. This thread is a reminder I need to add some more tubing to get that to stop. Sucks getting the wall of water dumped on you when you hop in the boat after a rain.

A friend towed his R27 from Stuart to Punta Gorda for the rendezvous a few years ago. He was not so lucky. That relatively short trip resulted in significant repairs being necessary.

Yep that was a pricey lesson. I had actually had been on the road for 30 minutes when I saw my Bimini top flapping in the wind. A good canvas shop in Stuart was able to save it but it wasn’t cheap so now every time I trailer the bimini comes off. At the rendezvous we decorated the bare frame with Mardi Gras beads, the only topless R27 at the docks!
