Hi all,

We have a 2021 RangerTug R29-CB. After trailering it, I noticed we are missing the masthead light and light cover (see pic https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ogi6r9mziw0bs1/MastheadLight-Missing.jpg?dl=0). I bought a festoon light but got the wrong size. Can someone confirm ...

a) what type & size *bulb* should I buy for the masthead light?
b) how/where can i get a masthead light *cover* for the masthead light?
c) lastly, is there more damage to the masthead light fixture which I'm not noticing? or should a new bulb & cover fix this?

Thanks for your help!

Regards,
-Darryl & Tracy

This is the part# I got from the factory after buying my boat (R31), I think it is the same for all models (but I could be wrong):
<< 12V/10W NAV Bulbs (Point End) - 2 per pack 90203-7 $8.31>>
Better yet, please call RT parts department and ask about the bulb and cover, they can send you the right parts:

*Also ask Amittay to send you the Onboard Spare Parts list so you have some important spares onboard*

Two points about the light you are looking for.

I believe what you are looking for is an "All around white light". A masthead light (sometime we call it a steaming light) is unbroken light over an arc of the horizon of 225 degrees, whereas unless I'm wrong, you want an all-around light that shines 360 degrees. That covers you for when you are underway at night (as long as you have your side lights on) and at anchor. The only white light my 2017 R31 CB is an all around white. It you call RT parts, they will lead you in the right direction.

The only other suggestion I would make would be to get a LED bulb. It uses far less amps when anchored at night.

My mast head light burned out, so I replaced it with an led bulb. Took me awhile to find it. It is 44mm end to end. You can find it on Amazon.

After having another look, it seems you have an all-around over your mast head light. It is, in fact, the all-around that is missing the bulb and dome. Your mast-head light looks intact.

Thanks for the speedy responses. I'll contact Amittay and will definitely opt for the LED bulb.

Yes, it is the all-around light & cover which I need. Apologies if I used the wrong terminology and thanks for the clarification.

Just as a follow up, this problem is now resolved. Wanted to provide an update if it helps anyone in the future. I purchased the all-around light assembly from the factory, plus some spare bulbs. The outer plastic part of the light assembly twists and comes off, to allow access to the bulb. The light assembly also came with wires attached which come out from the assembly base.

In my case, I removed the 3 screws at the base of the old assembly (still attached to the top of the mast) and disconnected the old wires so that I could reuse the old wires with the new assembly. I removed the old assembly entirely from the mast. Then I removed the new assembly top so I could access the screws to remove the wires and then attached the base of the new assembly to the mast, fished the old wires thru the new base, then reconnected the old wires to the new base. Put bulb & assembly top back on and voila, this gave me a new assembly by re-using the old wiring (thereby avoiding cutting/splicing any wires). All good now. Thanks for the assistance and clarity everyone!
