Hello all,

An odd one here. My passenger side wiper starts all on its own from time to time, and at random intervals, and will cycle about 3-6 times and then stop. Sometimes it returns all the way to the rest position and sometimes it just dies where it is on the window. The switch operates it on and off just fine when needed, but this ghost function is giving me trouble. Anyone else see this before and know where I can start for the most likely culprit? Thanks!

Hi PlanetoSea,

Something is making temporary contact somewhere in the circuit. The best place to start checking is with the wiper switch itself. Since this is only happening on the passenger side, you could literally switch the switches and see if it then happens on the port side. If not, you will need to check all connections to see what may be loose on the "hot" side that is potentially grounding out and completing the circuit. Best place to start would be with the wiring at the switch and work from there. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf
