Subject: R29 CB's cockpit bimini hatch for venting
I had been wondering just what the benefit for having a opening hatch in the hard top bimini on my new R29 CB. Last week I had a full cockpit enclosure installed and this week it's super hot and sunny. The cockpit enclosure is fully deployed with all panels zipped up. The boat is bow in starboard tied in my covered slip that leaves the stern fully exposed to afternoon full sun. The cockpit gets VERY warm and the SS poles get almost to warm/hot to hold onto. Thus, the Bimini's opening hatch has become beneficial by having it cracked open with the hatch lid abutting the underside of the solar panel on top and allowing the warmed air somewhere to go. Yea..... I knew that hatch had a use. 😱 😉
