R29 Classic Onan Genset Racor Filer Change

Has anyone done a successful Racor fuel/water separator filter element change without filling the filter bowl? In other words, was the Onan genset transfer pump strong enough to pull fuel through the bowl and prime the fuel system?

I have the same question, as I changed both filters and their currently dry. Boat got moved to Worlds Fair Marina. Tomorrow I’ll start the generator, will see how quickly the filters fill/start. Will post update .

Yes it does auto prime . Gen will stall 2-3 times until filter housing filed with fuel, then runs fine.

Thanks for the report. Did you prime for 30 seconds prior to your first start per the operations manual?
