R29 Purchase???

Close to purchasing the R29. It doesn’t have the dingy with motor. What aftermarket solution have people found satisfactory? I’m 6’4” and don’t like the vertical storage of the dingy (blocking the view), is hanging at 3/4 to horizon possible?

Also what trailer is best to purchase . Do plan on trailering.

There are several posts on this topic you could search. We have an R29CB and removed the rear rails and added an Olsson Davit system. It is the ST-275 model. We used it to lift our Ranger factory dingy with a 9.9 hp Yamaha outboard attached to the dingy. We also used the Ranger removable ratcheting system to raise and lower the dingy. Worked very well for us and we did not have to rail mount our outboard and lift it on and off the dingy each time we used it. That alone was worth the cost of the system

Looks like a great system. When I was in the Navy, I loved standing on the fantail looking behind the boat, so the vertical dingy was a Nono

Without the swim platform rails you could also consider a system from HURLEY Marine. We used one of there systems on our R27. Google “HURLEY Marine” to see what they offer and or call the owner Todd to discuss.
