R29S Ranger Tug

We are looking at a 2011 R29 Ranger Tug with a Yanmar 6 BY2 engine. Would like to hear comments on reliability and cost to repair. Also, what are the most common repairs that have been encountered. We were sailors and maybe we are just too nervous since we wont have sails. Any comments are appreciated.

Have a 2012 R29. 1200 hrs so far, no repairs. Normal service only. Should be good for 10,000 hrs.

We had a 2012 R-29 and currently have a 2014 R-31. Aside from routine maintenance we haven't had any noteworthy issues. If you search through these forums, the most commonly discussed repairs are replacing the impeller and replacing a thruster shear pin. You'll find many DIY solutions and suggestions.

I have a 2011 r29 and have had no problems with the yanmar. Have about 425 hours on the engine. By the way, it's for sale. We have two footitis. Need a 31!
