Sadly, I learned the hard way that my R31 tastes great... or at least one rat thinks so. I discovered this past weekend that my rear cockpit seat, raptor decking, engine compartment insulation and other things had been chewed up pretty well by a rat. The main cockpit seat is beyond repair.

The good news is that I got the little $*#*%&-- who I am happy to report is now swimming with the fishes-- but I need to replace the cockpit seat cushion. Has anyone removed the cockpit seat cushion (not the side fold out seats) on an R31? There are no obvious screws that hold it in place, but I suspect that they may be hidden under the black gasket that is on the underside of the seat. Yes?

A few lessons learned during this episode:

-Rats are evil little &*$%^@)s. I am going to keep a few traps on board and spray ammonia on the docks to try to keep them away.
-There are a ton of hard to reach hiding places on the boat, so I will also attempt to block their entry point into the boat structure (without blocking airflow to the engine).
-I am not 100% sure of this, but it doesn't seem like the rats can get into the actual boat cabin. They can definitely get into the cabinets, but unless they push open the cabinet doors (doubtful) seems like they are mostly stuck in the underside of the cabin -- where all of our expensive cables and wires live.
-Ranger Tugs doesn't carry the vinyl that was used on my 2016 and it has apparently been discontinued. I guess I will be stuck trying to match it as closely as possible.
