New-to-me 2016 R31S. The autopilot heading is erratic (sometimes off by 30-45 degrees).

Anybody know the location of the CCU on this model?

My 29 had the same problems. Check for magnetized items such as knives in drawers etc.

The CCU can also come loose in its bracket and rotate erratically under way. That's what happened to mine when one of the three claws holding the CCU broke. HTH, Gary

As to the location...
On my R31 it is in a weird place. You have to remove a couple drawers in the top galley cabinet and you'll see it mounted there.

Hi all,

Along with the above information, don't forget to start with a fresh autopilot calibration to ensure that this is not the issue before you go chasing for gremlins. Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Ralf
