The Kisae inverter on my 2019 R31 CB is cycling on and off, charge to bypass every 1-2 minutes.

The inverter was replaced in 2023 and has worked fine.

I am not sure if it is related however yesterday I replaced the AC pump and turned off the AC at the breaker panel and the problem seemed to start shortly after turning everything back on.

Battery voltage and connections seem fine as do dock voltages.

Any help troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

Well my problems continue. The inverter has now stopped charging totally.
Another random issue on the AC panel I do not have voltage to my water heater or ice machine but do for my Air Conditioners.

What am I missing.

I hate to just change the inverter and the problem is something else.

Thank you for any troubleshooting hints.

Keith:

I ran your symptoms through an AI diagnostic tool to break down what might be happening with your Kisae inverter/charger setup. Here is what came up based on similar Ranger Tugs electrical issues:

1. Check the Inverter's Built-In Breakers - Kisae Abso units have push-to-reset thermal circuit breakers directly on the inverter housing itself. Since your high-draw circuits (Air Conditioning) receive shore power directly from the main AC panel while downstream branch circuits (water heater, icemaker, outlets) pass through the inverter's transfer switch, a tripped breaker on the unit itself will cut power to those specific circuits. Try inspecting the inverter body and pressing all reset buttons.

2. Inspect the Internal Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) - If the main shore AC panel is feeding ~120V to the inverter, but no power is coming out of the AC OUTPUT terminals to your branch panel, the internal transfer relay may have failed, loose wiring on the input/output terminal block, or an internal lockout condition. You can verify this with a multimeter directly at the inverter's AC input/output terminals.

3. Check Neutral & Ground Connections at the New AC Pump - The Kisae monitoring board is sensitive to neutral/ground faults and line parameters. If a neutral wire came loose or a short occurred during the recent AC pump replacement, the inverter may repeatedly reject shore power, cycle between charge/bypass every minute or two, and eventually fault out. Double-checking the junction box connections on that pump might reveal a loose lead.

4. Perform a Complete DC/AC Hard Reset - Microprocessor logic glitches can sometimes cause Kisae units to enter a protection loop. Disconnect shore power, turn off the DC battery switch feeding the inverter for about 5 to 10 minutes to let the internal capacitors fully drain, then restore DC power first before plugging shore power back in to see if it clears the cycle loop.

Hope this gives you a good starting point to isolate the issue!
