when I flush the toilet on my 2019 R31 located in the state room there is a very loud noise that comes after the toilet has emptied all the contents and is now just pushing air. It is a loud rattling grinding noise. Happens only at the end of the flush. Can i buy the parts to repair or do i need to replace the entire mascerator. I know it is a Thetford toilet but am not sure of the model. Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Warren

Hi Warren,

That sounds like you may have some issues with the macerator/pump inside the toilet. (macerator, most likely) It will need a bit of diagnosis. You would need to go through Webasto to get these parts, as we do not stock any replacement parts. But they of course would know which parts you may need for the repairs. Hope this helps for now.

Cheers,

Ralf

Ralph, do you know the exact model number Thetford toilet for the R31 model for 2019. It definitely is the macerator pump. The bearing has seized and the area where the bearing sits has now enlarged allowing the impeller to wobble and stoke the inside of the evacuation chamber. I am very disappointed that the unit only lasted less than 3 years. I believe you mean Thetford and not Wabasto in your reply. I am also disappointed that Ranger does not have these parts available.

I have contacted Thetford the part number I require is 36180 but every dealer I have contacted so far says Thetford will not sell them the part even when they are a Thetford dealer. They are RV dealers not marine dealers. What a load of crap. Therefore I am SOL pardon the pun until I can find a dealer in Canada and preferably on Vancouver Island.

Are you sure its 36180? That part number doesn't return anything on google or bing search for me.

If you look at the manual (page 32, service parts list), I believe what you are looking for is referred to as #4, which is the Easyfit 12v Motor Pump Kit, which I believe is #36750. It looks like it's on backorder from most places in any case, unfortunately. I think you are SOL. (pun intended).

I have the toilet disassembled and I have the part in my hand the part number is 36180. I have called Thetford and they have the part. I just can’t find a dealer who Thetford will sell the part to. I have tried all dealers who are close to me using the dealer locator on the Thetford web page but Thetford will not sell them the part. Welcome to Canada boys. So yes it appears I am SOL and am now sourcing a new toilet. Preferably not Thetford. The toilet is too high anyway as it is installed on a step.
Does anybody have any recommendations?

Headhunter is one of the other top brands, but sorry you are having issues with the Tecma as they are considered one of the best. Other brands to consider are Dometic, Jabsco, and Raritan. Not sure which model Tecma you have, I think RT and CW generally use the Easyfit, but it's worth noting they make a short model as well.

Thanks Dave B it’s seems that you are correct 36750 is the part number for the entire assembly. 36180 is just for the motor.
Because my seized bearing on the motor ruined the area it sits in I will need the entire assembly. It just so happens that a dealer located down the street from me has the part in stock. Thanks everyone for the responses I will be up and pooping in no time. I hate wasted time not on the water. SOL out.

Excellent, glad you were able to find it!
