R31CB Generator removal

I need to change the pan under my generator on my r-31 cb. It appears that there is not enough room to lift it and slide another pan in. If I have to remove the generator, do you have any suggestions? Looks like it was installed before the deck was.

It can be removed through the back hatch in the cockpit, behind the center hatch.
