I am the new owner of a 2015 R31S. above 3100 RPM I got a high water alarm. I lifted my engine hatch to see water spraying out between two different colors of metal that bolt together and are around the prop shaft just behind the engine going to the prop. Below 2100 RPM no water leaks into the bilge. Above 2100 RPM water sprays like crazy and appears to be coming from in between these pieces of metal that are silver and brass colored with 6 or 8 bolts connecting them together. Can anyone tell how I might correct or have this corrected? My Tug is at Burnt Store Marina in Punta Gorda FL.

Thanks, Pat

it sounds like the shaft packing needs tightening. These boats (like many) have packing material around the shaft that is kept wet with a little seepage controlled by the locking rings on the shaft. the dripping in your case is too fast. you need to adjust the nuts on the shaft.

the water is there to cool the shaft.

there is a different drip rate when the shaft is turning vs still so the right way to do this adjustment is with the shaft turning.

I cant remember what the recommended rate is for our powerboat shafts. Andrew from the factory will be able to tell you or you can wait for someone more knowledgeable than me on here
