New owner of a 2009 25 ft ranger tug here. I returned to my slip without putting my radar tower back down and hit my overhead canopy <metal frame on the dock> 🙁

It didn't hurt the radar or steel but put some crack in its fiberglass base.

Wondering what to do to stabilize it.

Maybe epoxy the crack?

Meanwhile I plan to take down my canopy roof!

Thanks for your ideas!

Sorry to hear about the damage to your boat.

If you post pics of the damage the forum can make better recommendations to help you properly fix it.

The base can be removed and a boat repair shop can repair the cracks.

ok i uploaded photos. since the damage is rather limited, I am wondering if I can get away with new screws drilled into the sides to shore it up as well as epoxy repair of the crack without removing the top cap. I wonder if it is ok to do so and if there are wires underneath to worry about in drilling new holes, etc.

trying to post pics, how do i upload them?
Got your request. You're good to go.

For future reference for others reading this thread:

Getting a User Photo Album for your Ranger Tug is easy but it requires submitting a request from within the site structure.

1. Sign on to the site, if you aren't already.

2. Select the User Control Panel link from the upper left corner of any page. Note: On the home page, this link is in your user menu.

3. Click the Usergroups tab, then select the radio button next to the User Albums group.
Scroll down, choose "Join selected" in the drop-down menu, and click the Submit button.

Once you do this, an email is automatically sent to the administrator (me). That message will trigger my ability to approve your request, and you'll receive an email indicating your membership in the User Albums group has been activated.

I'll watch for the message, and look forward to seeing your pictures.

Cheers,

Bruce

Xhawk101 - have a similar issue with the base of the radar tower. How did you evenyptually fix your issue?? Thanks! Dennis, R25, 2009 "Cenile"

Greetings, I used screws and have reinforced the tower with additional lines tied to the top. Seems to have worked.
