Ranger 25 SC 2014 INVERTER

Hello all


So I'm off shore power at a mooring with the engine turned off. The inverter is turned on but the microwave only will work if the engine is running. I thought the inverter worked just off the batteries? The batteries are new and the microwave works fine as long as the engine is running. Any thoughts?

Why do I suspect a 2014 25 will be different than a 2017. Let's get these out of the way.

Inverter itself is on - check.
Selector switch is set to Inverter?
A/C main is on (and the needle is indicating 120v)?
Microwave breaker is on?

I'm going to assume you checked all these and still no power to microwave unless engine running? My conclusion - your batteries are too weak?

Edit - just reread you stated batteries were new.

I suspect that the draw on the batteries may be a tad too much. Quite frankly, when I am using the microwave or any appliance with a large draw I put the engine on. With a large draw your batteries won't last long.
