Where is the transducer located in the 2011 Ranger-27?
How much portion of the boat I have to take a part to get accesses to it?
I Have only dashes on the GPS 5012 screen, the GSD 22 sounder looks like is working , green light blinking 1 second off for 0.5 second. If disconnect the transducer from the GSD 22 I get the message on GPS 5112.
Are there any splices, connections. or extensions between the transducer and the sounder or there is single cable?

Thanks

Did you try disconnecting all the cables from the box, wait a minute, and then reconnecting? Sometimes that will work. As far as I know there are no splices. The cable runs from the transducer to the unit. The transducer should be glued to the hull at the stern, below the stern storage locker, where if you have propane, is below that floor supporting the propane. You need to remove the propane locker and floor to access the transducer. What you may find is that the transducer was glued directly to the hull without the canister that holds antifreeze. This apparently is an approved installation sanctioned by Garmin. However, I have helped others do a reinstall on this and we purchased the piece that is supposed to be fastened to the hull with adhesive. We used 4200. We then filled the container with the small amount of antifreeze and insterted the transducer. No issues since.

Let us know how things progress. I hope you have long arms!

Thank you! Knotflying,

I disconnected all connectors to the unit and GPS with the power off and waited for a minute. I will try this weekend again and will dismount the transducer and follow the (Model P79) owner's guide for troubleshooting.
You are right!! to work on this boat requires to have long arms, short legs, small head..... be less then 180 lbs.

Thanks again!

I will keep you posted

Problem corrected transducer is working!

After dismounting and removing propane locker, plywood self below ( I don't have black water holding tank, was removed after installing the composting Airhead toilet) and the rear panel in the engine compartment the where the wash pump and macerator pump are located, I was able to locate the transducer!.

The transducer was partially attached of the hull, the power wire wire was holding it in place, the adjustable base with sound conductive liquid as per transducer manufacturer instructions was omitted during original installation.
Like a good amateur, I just sanded and cleaned both surfaces with denatured alcohol and slapped it back on with an ACE hardware store epoxy. After the summer season I will install it according the the transducer manufacturer instructions.
The area where the transducer is located is all ways wet, water accumulates behind the the it and the possible drainage when the boat changes angles is blocked by the transducer it self, winter storage list item.
And yes! as knotflying mentioned the system needs to be resettled by disconnecting and connecting all the connections related to the system for a minute with the power off.

Thanks Knotflying!
