Ranger R27’ watertank

Hi all, tadpole here. I have zero experience as boater except for a two day boating course I completed last year in Stewart Fl. As so many others I dream of sailing the Loop and it is scheduled for 2020. Now I am hunting down a Ranger Tug. Came across a R27 and see on the specs it has a 40gallon fresh water tank. However in my research I found that at least a 90 gallon tank is recommended for Loopers. Can anyone advise please? I know 27 footers have done the Loop so it must be doable....methinks...but how? thanks in advance!

The tank is 50 gallons. Probably a few gallons less of usable.

We travelled for over a week mostly on moorings. With rationing water it was not a problem.

On long trips, many boaters carry bottled water for drinking and cooking, and use the water in the tank only for washing.

You learn to conserve. And then return back to land and realize how wasteful you've been with all that fresh water piped into your house. People have done the Loop with boats (and fresh water tanks) smaller than the R27.

Many many thanks for all the advice. Happy to hear it is doable. Anything specific you as Ranger owners think I should keep an eye peeled for during my visual inspection - little snags a R27 might have? I will have an independent marine survey done as well! Thanks again.
