I have a 2019 Ranger R29 CB. I boat in the southeast (Georgia) where in the heart of the summer, I run the A/C in the cabin so I keep the rear door closed. The rear door is sloped so it closes automatically when not latched open --- actually slams if you are not holding / guiding the door closed. While I mention it to my guests, they and their children are not always careful so several times during an outing the door slams shut and you can imagine my irritation. Outside of being militant with my guests, have any Ranger Tug owners with the newer R29 design installed a soft close mechanism so the door doesn't slam?

Thanks in advance for suggestions,
Franco

Not familiar with your model boat but there should be a shock/strut on the window that needs to be replaced. These are the same that are on your tool box in your truck or the rear hatch on your car you can order from Amazon or other on line distributors, they are cheep usually about $10-$20 each. If you can't get the numbers off the old one you can measure for a correct fit. Good luck Bob

Bob, thanks for your reply. I don't have a strut currently installed on my door. I wanted to install to install one.Geometry and force of the strut is the tricky part and I was hoping to learn from someone's experience.
