As I recall, some early talk about this boat had it priced a bit less than the previous R29... which most people think is a classic, not "old and stuffy."
I mentioned this when the boat design was first presented to the TugNuts, and think it is good to have something fresh, while still maintaining the classic that has been so successful. The original R29 and the R31 are quite similar, but the R31 has that great cockpit... offering a completely different 29 gives buyers diverse options. Very smart.

When viewing the new R-29S at the Seattle Boats Afloat event earlier this year the sale price for it was some $5K less than the now discontinued R-29.
