Do any of you guys know how much clearance is needed for the prop to clear the trailer? In other words...how high would the boat need to sit up off the trailer ( bottom of boat sitting on bunk boards ) for the prop to clear the crossmember? Hope this makes sense.....

Glad to clarify if you aren't following me.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I am a bit puzzled by your question. When my R-25 is sitting on the the bunks of the EZ Loader trailer that it came with, the prop is about 3 feet aft of the trailer's rear cross member.

Are you actually asking about the prop skeg? It goes over the trailer's rear cross member with a couple inches of clearance. The cross member has a U shaped bend in the middle to accommodate the skeg.

This is an R27, but probably not much difference. The crossmember is shaped to clear.

Thanks guys. I am simply struggling to explain this clearly, but here is another try.

In the photo that was posted.....what is the measurement from the top of the timber ( bunk ) to the bottom of the skag.

What we are trying to figure out is how high the timber must mounted in order to give the skag enough clearance to not hit the trailer when loading. Hope this helps explain things.

Gulfside, I understand exactly what you mean. Too bad I don't have a trailer for my R-25, so am unable to help.

Gulf side, I suggest calling the trailer manufacturer and giving them the serial number, they should have all the correct measurements. That is what I did when I purchased a used trailer for my 21EC, as my measurements were off on my trailer.

I just went out and measured our King trailer (our R-25 is in the marina).
Laying a board perpendicular across the bunks, I measured the clearance between the top of the cross-members of the trailer to the bottom of the board.
Working from front to back, the clearance for the first cross-member is 14.5", second (forward axle) 13.5", third (second axle) is 14.5" and the rear cross-member is 16.5".
I hope this helps.

Thanks a ton!

One more thing...if you guys could help me with this.

Looking to figure the back axle placement. So first of all....

Are you guys hanging any of the boat off of the back of the trailer....in other words is the boat flush with the rear crossmember of the trailer ----or is it hanging off past the rear crossmember ( of course it is sitting on the timber bunk boards that would be hanging off the back of the trailer ). If it is hanging off the back how much past the rear crossmember is the boat?

If it is sitting flush. what is the measurement from the very back of the trailer to the center of the rear wheel?

Appreciate all of the help !
