My Wife and I have been looking at the Ranger Tug 31CB for our one and only retirement boat in a few years. We have been on one at a recent boat show. My question is where do you lounge (sit with your feet up) at night or when “stuck” on the boat for a few days? Seems like the only option is to put the dinette down and sit there but that doesn’t look too comfortable. It’s not a big concern for me but seating comfort is at the top of her list especially if spending a lot of time on the boat. Appreciate any insight!

We had an R-27. If one wanted to sit up and read or watch TV it was in the V-berth. The 31 is larger, but I think the same principle would apply.

We just got that exact boat, you can sit on the dinette benches and lay them out a bit but it's not quite the recliner you may be looking for. the v-berth is super comfy and has lots of lots for reading or relaxing.

We haven’t tried it yet on our 31 but the table can be dropped down and there is a wedge type cushion for under your legs. Also the rear outer port seat position of the dinette has a tilting back rest. So with the cushion under you legs and the back rest tilted I would think this would be a good lounging spot.

Yup - agree with Mike&Sarah - problem is storing all the cushions, curious if anyone has tips

We purchased a pair of folding chairs with leg rests that recline a bit, thinking that would be a good lounging option for our R31 - didn’t use them the whole summer! We were always too busy to bother setting them up. Might be an option to consider, though they do take up a good amount of space.

C30 here but very similar. Besides the notes above, we use director's chairs in the cockpit. We also have a full cockpit enclosure, which will stay at 65 on a sunny day during winter.

We have the same boat. We use a blow up ottoman purchased on Amazon with our cockpit seating or with a deck chair.

Thanks everyone for sharing your Ranger Tug tips! Didn’t realize there was a tilting backrest in the dinette. This is such a great forum and community!

So far we store the bow seat cushions, dinette wedge and bow table under the vberth bed. The dinette full bed cushion fits nicely in the mid berth pushed all the way forward. If we were to on a longer trip without guests aboard we would leave some of those at home. I’m really not sure if we will use the bow table and bench as we have a CB and that’s our preferred place to be cruising or at moorage.
