Hi All,

Does Ranger Tug usually offer discounts at the Major Boat Shows? Like Miami Boat Show, US Powerboat show in Annapolis, etc.

Any inputs on what these discounts typically are?

Thanks

I think various incentives are used. Maybe a reduced price on an extended warranties. I think if I was a dealer I'd want to be keeping my cards close to my vest on this one. I'm thinking it would depend on the boat if the dealer had one in inventory. East coasters would have higher shipping costs. I think the best bet if pricing is your biggest consideration would be to find a year old model and dealer wants to unload it. I would think the Seattle boat show would be your best bet if you wanted to buy at a boat show. Would you buy a boat shown at the boat show? Or place an order at the boat show? I would try to negotiate on prices of optional equipment since there would be more wiggle room judging at the build a boat pricing for items which are optional if you are going to order one. Either way having good negotiating skills will bring better results. Just my opinions here.

Maybe, trying the Ranger website, where prices are given to build a boat to your liking, could be helpful. Once you reach that point, you can then ask for an individual factory estimate (offer?).

I bought my first R21EC, a 2009 model, at a boat show. Both the dealer and a Ranger representative were there. Between the two of them, I was given a discount. I had already priced and offered for a R21EC, a brand new 2008 model, to another dealer, in another state. I wound up paying about the same price for a newer boat and getting an aluminum trailer, which I preferred.

The two objections (IMO)to buying at a boatshow are: (1) what you see is what you get, not much room for other options; and (2) if other attendees get on the boat afterward it could get scuffed up.

We purchased the R25sc show model at the Seattle Show in 2015. When we got delivery, there was no evidence of the number of folks that walked thru the boat during the show. They did a great job of prevention and post-show cleaning. I would not hesitate to do it again. I consider our pricing confidential, but can say that there was a "show-incentive"....

As far as limitation of options, ours has everything but the generator and AC, which we would not have gotten anyway.

In February, 2011, I purchased the R-27 on display at the Hartford boat show. It had a list price over $190,000.....I paid $172,000. Got all the options no charge.
