I don't think thats going to buff out.

Well it looks like a winner for the March photo contest - Uncharted Waters !

The good news: no serious injuries. Boats can be replaced—people can’t.

There’s some chatter that alcohol may have been a factor. I don’t know the facts yet, so I’m not going to pile on or speculate. What I will say is this: early indications suggest this was preventable, and it’s a blunt reminder that our choices at the helm matter.

And yes—in the captain’s defense, that “tree” definitely wasn’t on the chartplotter.

One thing I love about the Ranger Tug community is how tight we are… but it also means mistakes get broadcast fast. Let’s keep it respectful, let the facts come out, and use this as a reminder to run sober, slow down in shallow water, and stay heads-up—especially in familiar areas where you can get complacent.

If anyone has verified info (not rumors), feel free to share.

Well said, there are too many things we don't know while a reminder that sobriety when you are the skipper should be no different than when driving a car is important.

This photo is tough to look at!
Especially since I cut trees as a side hustle, over 40 years!

I just hope that explaining to the insurance adjuster that he hit a log while traveling at a normal speed for that area and didn’t see it, he will be able to keep a straight face!
