Ranger Tug R-23 Insurance

Hello All, I currently own a Ranger Tug R-23 and insure with Allstate their rates are pretty high, so am looking for another Insurance Carrier. Can someone possibly recommend a good Insurance Company that offers better prices and acceptable coverage. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. I live in Kingston, WA and have my boat in Edmonds. Thank you!

Global Marine (htillotson@globalmarineinsurance.com) just insured my R23 and I think I got a good rate. They have a Ranger Tug rider whatever that means. Also got a quote from State Farm via their Poulsbo agent which was similar but required a survey but your boat is younger than mine. Sorry we missed you at KCYC last night.

Global Marine or Anchor Marine are both great insurance brokers. We use Anchor Marine on Mercer Island, WA but have always heard positive feedback about Global.
The insurance companies that sell car insurance and also do boats do not usually provide the most comprehensive coverage. For example, my coverage through Anchor provides full coverage up to and including the Broughtons and all USA inland waters. My coverage limit for marine towing is full hull value ($175k) and while I can’t imaging recovery effort costing that much it’s good to know it’s there. Both Brokers can explain the differences between different insurance policies. My policy premium with Chubb is less than 5% above of the quote from Geico when I checked this spring but the coverage is so, so much more complete.
PS: Also talk to the brokers about customer claims experiences. There can be a huge difference between insurers in getting a claim paid!
