When trailering a longer distance, Do you install the canvas on front windshield ?

No, I think it would be pretty battering for the canvas and if it did start to flap then damage could happen. Also the windows are so high up there that I am not really worried about rocks hitting them.

i trailer a lot ...so def do the above upgrade - the factory "elastic hair tie" doesn't hold up - when you install upgrade if the screw is too long file it down so it doesn't poke through the plastic seat.

I always covered the windshield on our R25SC when we trailered that all the time for 6 years. No problem with the cover staying on with the snaps. When we ordered our 2021 R29 back in 2020 we had our canvas guy make us a padded windshield cover for that boat. That windshield sits significantly above the roadbed but we had friends with that model endure the pain of a broken windshield from a flying rock. We had some issues with the stick-on snaps used but I ordered more of those snaps (Sailrite sells them) and properly treated the glass with the proper treatment and added a few more on the ends, that solved the issue and we still use that windshield cover even though our current trip to the launch ramp is only 5 miles away. The cost and hassle to replace a broken windshield is huge compared to the cost and effort to cover the windshield.
