Our 2014 R31 has two failed wiper motors. When the one over the helm failed the motor casing was so hot that it was not even safe to touch it. I was concerned about this starting a fire & was able to get it to cool down by pulling the wiper park fuse. I have since removed the motor but can't install the new one (Roca W12) because of space problems. I dropped the vinyl panel but the teak opening is so small that I cannot insert the new motor arm through the bulk head hole, ( I was able to get the old one out by shortening the arm with a disc grinder cutoff blade).
I found I had to pull the teak post out at the top to release the vinyl trim piece. By the way, I found that spraying some Windex on the vinyl greatly helped (Windex is alkaline and makes the surface slippery, especially for putting it back together).

Any suggestions on how to put the new motor in?

I had to use a rubber hammer to tap it up and in. It was not easy. I considered cutting the notch out a little more, but I got it in without doing that. I think it would be okay to cut out a little of it, as the vinyl trim will cover it up. I just didn't have the right tool at the boat, or I would have.
