Raptor Decking

We went with carpeting in our cockpit and love it. We don't have to worry about chairs denting it or the dogs nails scratching it and I can take it out and wash it down on the dock. Ours is a Teak look alike but it comes in multiple colors and styles.

What care and maintenance is required for the carpeting? Do you take it up and store it after each use? We originally had carpeting that we ordered from Range, but it got somewhat smelly so I switched to the Raptor decking (and am having problems with it coming up now...)

I noticed most of the earlier complaints about Raptor decking were during covid. We had some delays on our order back then (2021) but since the install, the product itself has been as advertised. Very pleased with the durability thus far and it cleans easily.

We usually throw a bucket of soapy water, ( dawn and warm water), on it and swish around with a broom and rinse. If we're not going to be on the boat for a while we roll it up and put it in the garage.
We haven't had a problem with smell as even fish blood washes out of it.

I'm checking out Ultradeck https://ultradeck.ca for a potential next purchase to replace my Raptor Decking. It held up well until some very hot weather and then it went downhill fast.

That is what happen to ours. Some of the edges curled & the items shrank. When I called the company, they said it was from the sun & heat. I told them that is why I purchased the product. It had been down about a year & 1/2. They said it was out of warranty & they wanted about $900.00 to supply a couple of replacements (no discount)!
