Just bought a 2013 Cutwater 28 with Volvo Penta D4. I read somewhere about raw water backing up into engine from exhaust port when trailering. Is this a concern? If so, is there a method to drain the system when putting the boat on the trailer. Will keeping the seacock open do it? I think there would still be water in the heat exchanger. Is there a drain plug on it? Is it ok to run the engine briefly to flush system? I had a Yanmar diesel on my sailboat which had a drain plug on the exchanger. I removed it often to change the pencil zinc. There wasn't any problem starting it back up but the impeller never lost its prime.
