I am wanting to relocate the VHF in my 2008 R25 to an alternate position. My question is how is it fixed in place at the stock location? It does not appear that the optional "flush mount kit" was used. Is it friction fit and / or glued in ? Before I apply some force to it I sure would like some feedback.

Thanks

In my 2009 R25, the Standard Horizon GX1500s VHF was held in with some white adhesive. Just wiggle it from the front and it will come out. Disconnect the wires in the back first though. Mine was a bit tight to get around the wheel but doable.

My suspicion was that it was glued in place, thanks for the confirmation, much appreciated!

I just successfully removed my VHF from its original position. It was a combination of a friction fit with some adhesive. I used a bar clamp in the spreader position to apply pressure yo the back of the radio (and braced against the face of the cabinet), and also I warmed the area around the radio with a heat gun on low setting to soften the adhesive. It popped out with little difficulty.
