Hi All- Just re-did the back of our marine carpet with this rubber product to seal it again and to prevent it, or any carpet for that matter, from slipping: Environmental Technology 32-Ounce Fiber-Lok Non Skid Backing. FOLLOW the directions and know it doesn't cover a lot of area but the cost is way cheaper than replacing an expensive original Teak and Holly marine carpet in good condition. We have the original carpet for our Ranger Tugs and one 32 ounce container of this this stuff just covered both the cabin and cockpit carpet backing with two coats. It is also used as an anti-skid for rugs, new and used alike.

I grew up in the carpet-care and oriental rug restoration business, and yet never knew such a product existed. Still learning something new every day! 🙂

Its fun to learn new things! The latex rubberI put on the back of the rugs is also used to make rubber molds. The underside of our interior one was deteriorating and leaving black marks from backing on the hard floor. The exterior one was not but I brushed two coats on as preventative. I did read lots of feedback on several products and this brand seemed to be favored over some others though I can't speak for that myself. And of course, I don't really know how long it will hold up. I just know it is all sealed up now.....
