My autopilot has never worked properly, from day one. When it was recalibrated the first time I found that the hydraulic pump was frozen. Replaced pump. Factory took a guess at recalibration when pump was replaced. For a while it at least used to point the boat to a compass setting but not accurate to a destination-not even close. Recently I downloaded the latest upgrade from Garmin and now the dang thing puts me in circle as soon as you activate it. I mention there is no ferrous metal near the compass to throw it off before someone mentions that. Looking for the "secret code" so I can reset the compass next time I am on the water. You press a bunch of buttons in sequence to activate the recalibration cycle, why the secrecy I have no idea. Can someone send this stuff to me in a written step by step sequence to I can get this relatively worthless yet expensive system to point my boat west, east etc. again? PM me if the secret handshake must be kept secret.

thanks

I have the exact same issue! autopilot just runs in circles.

I bought the software update chip from Garmin. after installation, it prompted me through an autopilot calibration sequence of turns and such. You might try the downloaded updates, of the chip if that does not work for you.

If you would like to call us to walk you through a recalibration, this is needed once an update is applied. Without the calibration it will not work right and will spin you in circles. Feel free to reach out directly to us if you have any issues.

Thank you,
