Hi All,

The kids are asking for my Christmas list and I always have a hard time coming up with ideas for them to get me.
As I am planning a battery / solar upgrade project this winter, I thought that a good label maker for all my cables would be a good idea for my X-mas list.
I've done a bit of looking at various options out there, and know I could go from very basic to incredibly sophisticated units.
I'd like to put an item on my list they could get for me that would be good quality, but wouldn't require them to break the bank in order to get one for me.
Any feedback or recommendations from those of you that have used similar items would be great.

Thanks in advance
Jim

There are

We've had a Brother P-touch model PT-D210 for years and it has handled all of our boat and home labeling needs nicely. Still going strong. Looks like it's been replaced by the PT-D220. You can still find the 210 online but it costs more than the newer model.

Cheers,

Bruce

I have a Brother Model PT-D200 that I find is easy to use and makes very nice labels. If I recall correctly, it was less than $50 and it and replacement label tape was readly available at Walmart.

When I rewired my boat I knew I'd have a bunch to label.
I bought a Brady BMP21-PLUS-KIT1 printer.

For cables of various sizes (to 4/0awg) I use labels M21-750-499.
I just type in what I want the label to say. Then i select the size wire and hit print. The label wraps around the cable.

For other types of labeling, I use M21-375-423, White harsh environment polyester labels for barcode, solar panels, etc... This prints out a flat label to stick on.
