Asking for Redondo beach, Des Moines information. Parking? Secure? Web site lists parking for truck and trailer @$10 per day or $140 per season. Have any TugNuts used this facility? Comments?

Thanks Herb

Herb,
While we have never used the Redondo Beach Ramp, we have used the Alki Point ramp. We found this ramp to be in great shape, easy to access and secure for the car. I do not recall the rates for parking and launching just that it was not expensive. John and Laurie have also used this ramp and left their truck and trailer with no issues.

Redondo ramp is usually in good shape in the summer, although it tends to get pretty sandy when the fall/winter storms roll in. Parking is good - I have used it several times with no problems.

If I remember correctly, the DesMoines boat lift is no longer available to drive-up customers - it is only used for people who pay for dry storage at the marina.

Edit: At low tide you may find 4WD to be useful at Redondo. There used to be a lip at the end of the ramp, and if the trailer tired went off that lip you would need some good traction to pull it back up over the edge. Maybe they have that fixed now? (It's been several years since I've launched there)

Thanks for the info. I was trying to figure out if it would be practical to move down to Des Moines before the Bremerton Rally. We plan to load up and head South after the rally, but moving to Des Moines before would only save us one or two days. Probably not worth the effort. Besides, we get to do more boat travel(fun), and less truck and trailer shuffling(not fun).
