I've started to go thru all the various products in our R25 to ensure they are all registered correctly for warranty purposes.

I started with the 150 HP Yanmar Diesel 4BY and went to http://www.yanmarmarine.com/ web site and for the life of me could not find any link to "Registration". The YanMar web site is very very slow and I sense it's not setup well for casual browsing. The search feature is a PITA and takes for ever.

The YANMAR Operation Manual that came with my boat states on its inside cover to REGISTER YOUR ENGINE at http://www.yanmarmarine.com/

I loaded up my computer with the YanMar CD info that came with the boat's YanMar Marine Warranty Handbook. All that it provided was a replica of the printed Handbook I already had. I was hoping it would have some directions for registering the engine. Well, now at least I have an electronic version of the Handbook. 😉

I did discuss all this with Ranger Tugs last week and I recall them saying they will take care of registering the boat and engine, and in addition will handle any enquiries for any and all other items that require warranty work.

What have others done wrt warranties and product registrations ? Thanks.... 🙂

We just about tore our boat apart and stood on our heads to find model and serial numbers for all the components, some of which were installed in such a way as to make finding the serial numbers impossible. We did the best we could with the warranty cards and mailed them all in. then we counseled Jeff and Andrew that from now on they need to be recording all this data as they install components....

Have yet to see all the recorded SNs for our R25 delivered last week. 🙁 However, Jeff tells me Ranger has taken care of our Yanmar engine registration and maybe a few other items. No matter, Jeff says simply to call Ranger if there is ever a warranty issue, plus he knows I live just down the road from his house. 😀
