I have a new R25. I am having trouble detaching the table to lower for use as a berth. I cannot find aything in the literature that came with the boat that describes a procedure. I do see there are buttons in the base brackets holding the table legs--I assume they are to be pushed to release the legs at the base. But no matter how hard I press, they do not seem to move and no release is obtained. I have thought about taking a hammer to them, but i figured it would be wiser to ask the experts first.

Common problem/.There are several notes on this on this site.
ONe plan: one person gets under the table, push on the releases at the top of the legs, and with your back, push up, while another person jiggles the table off. (bad design).
Andrew suggests drilling out the rivets for the two releases, making it easier to lift off the top.

Here is a poll I would like to start. If you take the table down frequently to make into a bed please reply with "I". I have a plan for stuff like this 😀

"II"

Sorry Andrew, I couldn't resist. The Bill guy needs to set up the poll function here as we do on the C-Brats.

This table problem is frustrating. I have not yet been able to release it and next week I am going to need the bed.

Terraplane suggested getting under the table, pressing the releases at the top of the legs and pushing up with my back. Perhaps not all installations are the same. My releases--if they are releases--are a button on each of the bases into which the legs are set. I try to press these buttons, and have pressed them with great force and even taken a hammer to them, but nothing happens. Furthermore, even if they are released from the base at the bottom of the legs, I do not see how the legs will be released from the table at the top.
There are no visible release mechanisms at the tops of the legs where they connect to the table itself and no amount of wiggling and jiggling has yet been successful in getting the table off the top of the legs.

Futhermore, Terraplane said there have been other posts that described how to address this problem, but I have searched and not found those posts. Any suggestions about where to look for the posts or other ideas about how to get the table down will be greatly appreciated.

Chuck,

I would suggest calling your dealer or calling us here at the factory. It does take two people to lift them off evenly. If there are no locking mechanisms then it should come off farely easy. I suggest having a person sitting on each side of the table and wiggling it back and forth. You are always welcome to call on the phone which sometimes can be alot easier then trying to type instructions.

The table on my boat comes apart in two steps. The top is pressed down onto the supports - and there are two little plastic clips that catch the bracket on the table. I have been successful by climbing under the table, pressing the clip and pushing up with my back. I work one side at a time, and it isn't easy. With two people, it would be easier.

Once the table is off, then I press the buttons on the floor and unscrew the legs (counter clockwise). That part is easy...

Maybe you would try twisting the legs (pushing the button while doing so) and see if you can free them from the table top?

To release the table - the top of the table is snugly fitted onto the two posts - use your back to evenly lift the table up off the two posts with someone else steadying the table. The push button on the base of each leg is a release. Push down on the button while turning the leg as you would unscrew it from the base - counterclockwise looking down. the button simply releases a ratchet mechanism that keeps the kegs from unscrewing while in use. The legs unscrew and can be stowed as the table is laid down to the bed position.

On my 08 R-25 the table lifts off the top of the legs (a couple blows from the bottom helps) the buttons on the base are pushed down and the legs unscrew. Putting a little wax or lube on the top of the legs befor reassemble helps next time. Happy cruising--lbrown

aye

There are black tab like things at the top of the posts you have to push in. Lie down on your back and you will see them. Then, while still on your back, use your feet and hands to put upward pressure on the while you push in each tab, one at a time. A little bit of wiggling may be required. Then use your hands and feet to guide the table top to the side. The buttons at the bottom of the post get pushed and then you have to twist the posts to remove them once the top has been removed. It is not elegant but it is the fastest/easiest way that I have found to remove the the table top.
