Fellow Tuggers:
I've got an inop Stern thruster on my 2012 R27. Have been in touch with the maker (Side Power in the UK) and the distributor in the US (IMTRA). I have performed most external electrical checks as outlined in their trouble shooting guide- hence believe the issue is internal - control box connections, solenoid, etc etc.
IMTRA wants me to ship motor for evaluation and is sending me the ratchet tool for those allen bolts.
The challenge now is to get that 'mother' out of the dark hole in the bilge.
I can't seem to get up with the factory guys for guidance (obviously busy with new boat and boat show stuff) hence I am on my own.
Any of you folks out there who have preformed this 'surgery'?
Suggestions on the best way to extract motor without damage to it or me would be greatly appreciated.
