We have little use for the wine cooler in our 2021 R29 and would like to utilize that space for other items. The path to removal is not obvious. Can someone that has removed theirs, or the factory, please advise as to how the unit is retained in the space and the path to removing it?

Hello,

To remove the wine cooler you need to remove the ratfur (white carpet) panels that surround the wine cooler close out. There are only a couple screws holding brackets for the panel, once out there are brackets on the backside of the wine cooler. It will slide out and there will be a wire connection that needs to be disconnected and secured, wouldn't be a bad idea to remove the fuse too. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

I use it as a crisper “drawer” for our vegetables and fruit. Works nicely for that.

Thank you Kevin. I suspected something similar to that. Nice to know it is that simple.
Thanks for your input also Alpina. I contemplated another use but the power draw does not justify using it when we already have two refrigerators. I will save it in the garage in the event some day we decide we need more cold storage space.

Can anybody tell me how cold that wine fridge gets? Is it cellar temp, or is it cold enough to get a white to drinking temp?

Lowest temperature setting is 40°F, so yes. But you can’t set two different temperatures for whites and reds.

While this seems like a simple question to answer, it is not. While you can set it to whatever the temperature range allows, it is only capable of cooling 20 or 25 degrees below ambient temperature. Check me on the numbers as I don’t have my manual handy. So, not really helpful when the cabin temp is elevated and
you want a chilled white. At least my experience.
