Has anyone successfully removed the Velcro adhesive residue from around the inside of the cabin door without damaging the painted metal? I hesitate to use Goof Off based on info from other web forums re paint damage. Maybe Goo Gone (citrus based), WD-40, mineral spirits, acetone, lighter fluid? Thanks for your help.

Might try "3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner and Wax Remover". It is made to remove adhesive and wax from painted automotive surfaces. The claim is that the solvent will not NORMALLY damage painted surfaces but one should first test on an inconspicuous area.

If you find a good tape (I have used carpet tape successfully ) take a piece and dab glue to glue it wil pull off the bulk of the adhesive off and the remaining residue is easy to get off.. I have to do a lot of this changing graphics on displays Pieces of what you are removing with glue on work good ... Hope this helps
Good luck it is a pain no matter what you do
