Rendezvous 2013

We will have ordered our 25 by then and want to meet everyone, get ideas for customizing. Anyone else live in Port Townsend?

Wondering if we are doing a silent auction again this year? With this many boats it could be quite the auction. I've been thinking of a few items to put in so will watch to see if that is in the works

Cheers

Please add Misty Blue (R-25) to your list of attendees. I plan on arriving late Thursday September 5th. I would appreciate an e-mail confirming my registration. Thanks.

Please add Soluna (cutwater 28) to the list. We will arrive on Friday and stay until Sunday. Thanks!

Sorry to say that an unexpected work commitment for the week after labor day has made our planned trip with Lady Di to Anacortes out of the question

Too bad I still have to work for a living!! We will miss not being able to meet the fellow "tuggers" there, but I look forward to many opportunities in the future to participate in many more rendezvous. I will certainly welcome retirement once it finally arrives in the next few years 😀 !!

Fellow Tugnuts,
I am new to tugnuts and am impressed with the comraderie that I see on this forum.
I am interested in the 2013 Rendezvous, however I do not know what to expect at this gathering and what is required of each tug owner.
Is there something that is written that I can reference for this information. Any help getting me on course would be appreciated.
Regards
Don

Don: Goto http://pnwrangertugrendezvous2012.weebly.com/index.html for the 2012 meeting. This should give you some idea what all goes on at this meeting. Basically, you just show up and you will be welcomed. 🙂

I finally got my schedule for September and it looks like we will be able to fly up from Utah for the Rendezvous. So count the Allotrope in. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again. Thanks, Jan, Doug and Max Jones.

Haven't heard much recently about the final program for the Ranger Tug Rendezvous Sep. 6, 7 and 8 2013, but still planning on bringing PEREGRINO into Cape Sante on those dates. With whom can I confirm our attendance, if not with the marina directly.

Unfortunately, Robyn and I will have to withdraw our names from the growing list of Rendezvous 2013 attendees. Unforeseen circumstances are restricting our cruising for a while, although we are still hoping to attend Oktoberfest in Poulsbo. Perhaps next year...

The crew of Hoku Kai will be staying at the nearby Cap Sante Inn for this Rendezvous, hoping some of the activities will be wheelchair accessible. One less boat needing moorage space.

Hmmm... that makes two of us.... meaning the wheel chair access concern. I doubt much activities will on the dock side as there's not too much room from what I recall. Maybe up top to one side of Anthony's or further along toward P dock... dunno thought for sure until we see the agenda. 🙂

Most of the activities will be on C dock which is on the other side of the marina from P dock. C dock is in front of Anthony's and the marina offices. We will have both of the floating tents and the docks are HC accessible, except at low tide the wide smooth ramp is a bit steep, but workable. The seminars will be at the Seafarers facility which is past A dock where all the commercial boat dock. A bit of a walk from C dock and the opposite direction from P dock which is way over in the low rent district. But all paved accessible walkways.

Thanks Herb. I do hope that as many as possible can participate. Is there now an agenda available for the Rendezvous?

Regarding Holding Tank Discharge in Washington:

We have gotten differing opinions on discharging our holding tanks in Washington waters. While I fully agree it is best to use land-based pumpouts, sometimes that is really inconvenient.
For those of us with electric toilets which macerate on flushing, it would appear we have Type I MSD (marine sanitation devices). See http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/wq/nonpo ... ewage.html which indicates that discharge from Type III MSD's is prohibited everywhere in Washington waters. Type I and II are encouraged to discharge only underway and never in closed waters or marinas.
Then in reviewing this: http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/wq/nonpo ... ewage.html it appears that there are actually no No Discharge Zones in Washington waters.
So, on the one hand, we have been told we need to shut and lock our Y-valves and these websites indicate otherwise if you have Type I or II. Does someone have some expertise on this?

Thanks. I am cross posting this in the Rendezvous topic and as a separate topic for general information.

Then Again has been completed except some minor detailing. She is scheduled for delivery in Des Moines next week and the Rendezvous will be our shakedown cruise. We would like to arrive Thursdayu Sept 5 and depart Monday Sept 9. Who can tell us what special arrangements we need to make?

Allan

I wish there were Allan, Last year there was a web site set up in May

http://pnwrangertugrendezvous2012.weebly.com/

with a wealth of information on it. We are a bit in the dark this year. I do know that we have music scheduled for Friday night, but since the fire in Friday Harbor, the musician is working hard to keep the business displaced running. Hopefully he will be released to attend our gathering.

Other than that, we do have all of C dock reserved for us. The marina is allowing those of us moored over in the low rent district which include J-Q docks and E-F docks to move over to C to be part of the group. Some meals will be furnished, and some will be pot luck. I am sure it will be similar to last year...come and have fun.

Our schedule has come together. Online registration and pre-payment will be available soon - watch this thread. Here's a look at what we have planned:
