Thank you!
This represents a lot of hard work and we really appreciate it.

Our schedule has come together. Online registration and pre-payment will be available soon - watch this thread. Here's a look at what we have planned:

RENDEZVOUS SCHEDULE

Thursday, Sept 5:

As you arrive, call Cap Sante on 66A. The marina workers will guide you to your slip and will assist you with docking, if desired. Once docked, check in and pay for moorage at the marina office.

1300-1600: Bring your receipt to the tent on the float in the middle of "C" dock, where you will receive your welcome bag. Please consider adding your name to the volunteer whiteboard by signing up for a specific task.

1700-1815: No-Host Happy hour/Meet and Greet/Pizza Welcome Party. Come to the float tent with your beverage of choice and an appetizer or salad dish to share. Remember to bring your own utensils and plates.

1830: Pizza will arrive (there will be regular and vegetarian options).

Friday, Sept 6:

0730-1000: Breakfast sponsored by Anchor Marine Underwriters, Inc.

1100-1300: Tug Crawl - Check out what other folks have done with their boats, and share what you've done with yours.

1230-1430: Artisans Fair - If you have a hobby, craft, or art that you enjoy, please consider bringing examples to share at our faire, whether or not you wish to sell anything you make. Examples: building models, woodworking, sewing/quilting projects, photography, crafts, paintings, items you have crafted specifically for your Ranger Tug (i.e. custom cut linens)...anything you are passionate about!!

1500-1630: "The Broughtons and Beyond". Door prizes and video presentation by Mark Bunzel, Publisher of FineEdge Nautical and Recreational Publishing at Seafarer's Building.

1700-1830: Join our own "Margarita Bob" with his famous margarita machine at the float tent! Margaritas, salsa and chips provided, but feel free to bring alternative snacks if preferred.

1900-2030: Catered dinner sponsored by Volvo Penta North America

Stay for evening entertainment by our own Tugnut, Jim Bathurst!

Saturday, Sept 7:

0730-1000: Breakfast hosted by your Rendezvous Committee

1000-1500: Vendors will be set up in one of the float tents. Come meet with Yanmar, Garmin, Volvo Penta, and Anchor Marine Insurance, as well as other folks who have interesting marine products to share. Bellingham Power Squadron will be available for "safety checks" and with information on all of the educational seminars that Power Squadron provides.

1500-1630: "Lake Powell" Door prizes and presentation by Jim and Lisa Favors, the crew of the R-27 Kismet, at the Seafarer's Building.

1730-1830: Wine and Cheese party in the float tent, hosted by your Rendezvous Committee. Wine and Cheese and Baguettes will be provided. If you desire, bring a bottle of your own favorite wine to share.

19:00: Ranger Tugs sponsored dinner at the BBQs between the float tents.

Sunday, Sept 8:

0700-0930: Coffee and Croissants in the float tent

Anacortes and Beyond: Several locals have volunteered to host outings to places of interest in and near Anacortes. There will be a list of offerings posted on the white announcement board in the float tent. If anyone is interested in forming small pods of boats to continue on to the San Juans or to other local destinations, please let us know.

Cheers,

Bruce

Great Bruce, thanks to you and your committee for all the work you are doing. The agenda looks excellent. We should have lots of fun and information.

Spinner will be traveling from Seattle (Elliott Bay Marina) to Cap Sante on Thursday. Anyone doing the same on Thursday who wants to travel together?? I plan an early morning departure because it's a fairly long day's trip...

I do know that we have music scheduled for Friday night, but since the fire in Friday Harbor, the musician is working hard to keep the business displaced running. Hopefully he will be released to attend our gathering.

Hi Herb,

The business is running fine. Joan and I even had a day off today!! (Not exactly time off for good behavior, but I'll take it! 😎 ) Instead of a building, we are checking in guests at a waterfront tent. Joan is handling phones and internet from an inland location - she misses seeing the waterfront and guests all day, and I miss seeing my Honey during the work day. Not what we're used to, but it's workable.

I have some songs for Wilma and we're looking forward to a fun evening. You can count on us.

Best wishes,
Jim

Thanks for the update Jim, I am glad everyone with businesses in Friday Harbor are landing upright and on their feet. We look forward to your music and a nice long visit with you and Joan.

Thanks Bruce for sharing the Agenda. It looks great and we're looking forward to it as well as meeting all the Tugnuts. Maybe I'll get the opportunity to use my free Pizza coupon in Anacortes that I received at the Fisherman's Terminal meeting earlier this year. Oh, and BTW, thanks for that tremendous Photo Scavenger hunt... that was brilliant and gave Gill the opportunity to scoot about with her beady eye.

My plan it to motor up from Edmonds on Thursday arriving probably mid afternoon if all goes well or maybe travel up Wed with a stay over at La Conner for the night and then up to Cap Sante by Noon Thursday.

The C dock is a fine location with wide gangways as I recall, and right in front of Anthonys. The Tent floats are a good idea.

BTW... will there be an Auction activity this year ?

Thanks for all the hard work the meeting committee has put in for this year's meeting.

Then Again has been completed except some minor detailing. She is scheduled for delivery in Des Moines next week and the Rendezvous will be our shakedown cruise. We would like to arrive Thursdayu Sept 5 and depart Monday Sept 9. Who can tell us what special arrangements we need to make?
The committee will make reservations for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Those arriving early or staying on beyond Sunday should make reservations for those extra nights with Cap Sante. Payment for all moorage will be made to Cap Sante upon arrival.

Cheers,

Bruce

Here is what I believe to be the most current list of folks attending the rendezvous. This list is for planning purposes. Please check it to see if it accurately shows your status. Reply to this thread with any changes.

Mooring reservations will be made for all boats attending Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. If you plan to arrive early, or stay on past Sunday, please make reservations for those extra days directly with Cap Sante. All moorage payments will be made directly to Cap Sante upon arrival.

Official registration and pre-payment will launch on Monday.

Thanks,

Bruce

Bruce et.al., thank you for getting the list out and the preliminary program as well. We all owe you.
I see PEREGRINO is on the list. I'll confirm for Sep 5, 6 and 7.
Best regards,
Ted Steudel

Bruce,

We were under the impression that we signed up at the Boat Show, but see that we are not on the list. Please add Island Ranger 29, with Rich & Shirley Rutkowski. Thanks!

We appreciate all of the work that you are doing!

Again, our thanks,

Rich & Shirley

Unfortunately Amstel has to withdraw from the Rendezvous. We had unexpected obligations come up that pulls us south this year. It really looks like a great agenda. We anticipate joining the October Fest however.

Happy to say Ladi DI II is back on for the Rendezvous!! We will be arriving Thursday evening and plan to leave Sunday.

Can you please add Lady DI back on the list.

Thanks

LazyL here. We will be joining the group via/our car as we do not have a boat at this time.. Please sign us up.
See you then.

Updates have been made to our planning roster. Remember, official registration and pre-payment is still coming. Watch this space!

Any more changes?

Thanks,

Bruce

Please add LIL' TOOT to the list. We plan on thurs. fri. and sat evening with the option to stay sun.at additional cost.
I request electric power (30 amp) I understand that this is an additional $4.00 per nite. I also understand that there will be more than one boat per finger witch will make it difficult for more than one to have power unless there are some 50 amp to 30 amp splitters available. Maybe this problem has been solved in the past.
Regards Don

We'll add you to the list. Don't know where the rumor started about multiple boats per finger. Not here. The harbor master will develop a docking plan based on official registration, and our objective is to include everyone. We know most folks will want power, and are preparing to accommodate.

Cheers,

Bruce

Please add R-MATEY to the list. Haven't decided yet as to whether we'll be there late Wednesday or early on Thursday?

Thanks, Ruth and Joe

Thank you for your responce. I didn't think that multyple boats per finger was a rumor until I heard back from you. How this started is, I was under the impression that the rendesvous was for Sept,6-7-8 as stated in the first entry of this site. Because I wanted to arrive on Thurs Sept 5, I called the harbor office of Cape Sante Marina (360) 293-0694 to see what I could do to stay Thurs, the nite of the fifth. The person on the phone advised me to get with the Ranger group so that I could get in the same slip that I would be in for the week end. I was told about the more than one boat per finger at this time. This made sence to me considering that C dock has 61 slips and the last count that I saw was 89 current boats. This is when I was told that C dock has 66ft. and 46ft. slips. Before I could respond to this Cape Sante suggestion I noticed that you had sent out another reply stating that reservations were being made for thurs, fri, and sat, This is when I wrote you to sign up, and with no longer a need to discuss what I thought was an early arrival .
I certainly appreciate the amount of work that you and the commitee must be doing.
Again Thank You
Don

R-Matey - glad you're joining us!

Don - we're determined to include everyone, and to make the most of what Cap Sante has to offer. Harmony Kellogg is working behind the scenes to coordinate the event schedule and amenities. Jeff Messmer and his team are spearheading sponsorship and logistics. And a cast of crews are working on a variety of things which will make the event special.

Let's look forward to thanking them all on the docks.
